History:
In 1983 certain Russian-Americans and American converts to Orthodoxy desired an Orthodox Parish which would observe the Orthodox Church calendar and traditions. Application was made to the Diocese of Chicago and Middle America of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad. Archbishop Seraphim carried the pertinent documents to Synod at the next scheduled meeting and the application was approved. The parish met in borrowed and rented quarters until moving into its own building in September, 2002.
